Austin Resource Recovery, a City of Austin department, provides a wide range of services designed to transform waste into resources while keeping our community clean.  Our goal is to reach Zero Waste by 2040, which means reducing the amount of trash sent to landfills by 90 percent.

Austin Resource Recovery, a City of Austin service, promotes Zero Waste through a variety of services. By 2040, we aim to reduce the amount of trash sent to landfills by 90 percent through direct recycling, composting and garbage services, business outreach and policy development.

How does your company or organization strive to be green or support sustainability efforts?

We are responsible for Zero Waste initiatives throughout the city. We directly service residents and a few businesses in recycling, composting and garbage services.  We also work in partnership with the local business community to enhance recycling, composting, and other Zero Waste initiatives.
