CPS struggling to fill board vacancy

When Stephen S. Hennigan steps down from the CPS Energy board of trustees, he will take with him a deep financial acumen, a keen intellect — sometimes perceived as arrogance — and 10 years of experience.
The second-most senior member of the board, Vice Chairman Derrick Howard, will have served just three years when Hennigan’s replacement takes over after Jan. 31.
A search for that replacement is under way, but it’s gotten off to a slow start. The board has received so few applications — just six as of Friday — that it has extended its deadline until Nov. 1.
