TGN Post-Election Wrap-up w/Karen Huber, Eddie Rodriguez and Mark Strama

Our November, 2012 event was a post-election wrapup for environmental issues.  Our moderator was Andy Brown, Chair, Travis County Democratic Party.

The panel featured:

Karen Huber, Travis County Commissioner

Eddie Rodriguez, Texas State Representative

Mark Strama, Texas State Representative

Luke Metzger, Executive Director of Environment Texas

TGN-Nov2012This was our first in a series of events geared toward open conversation between government representatives and the green business community.  Our first installment featured a post-election assessment to get our bearings after an important and expensive election cycle.

There was a bunch of stimulating Q&A time for attendees and, as with all TGN events, networking time for all to get acquainted, scheme and collaborate.

As Travis County Commissioner, Karen Huber has been a champion in protecting open space and water quality.

Included in Eddie Rodriguez’s legislative agenda are bills that environmental conservation and the promotion of renewable energy as part of a statewide approach to boosting environmental quality and creating economic opportunities for Texas.

In Mark Strama’s fourth term, he served on the Public Education and Energy Resources Committees. He has fervently supported legislation in support of renewable energy and education, and hopes to continue being a leader on these issues in the years to come.
