Puppy Chow & Platinum Building Tour/Reception in San Antonio

PUPPY CHOW & PLATINUM

Building Tours and an Evening Reception at

San Antonio’s First LEED NC Platinum Building

Wednesday, July 25 at 6:30 – 8:30 pm

A Joint Event with USGBC, AIA, IIDA & Texas Green Network

The Eagle Veterinary Hospital has the distinction of being not only San Antonio’s first LEED NC Platinum-certified building, but also one of the first buildings in the country to address within its design the care and treatment of animals in addition to the human occupants.

Unique challenges in the design of a facility of this type included mitigation of the smell and noise amplifications of various animals; control of disease and contaminates; and the demand for extraordinary cleaning protocols. Working closely with the San Antonio Water System and City Public Service enabled the project to receive substantial water conservation rebates and achieve a total energy savings greater than 49.4%.
