September 2011: Austin — Water Issues & Surviving Texas Drought
As of September, 2011, we have been in one of the worst droughts in Texas history. Texas has been hot and dry. So dry that water issues are some of the “hottest” we are facing right now. Our Austin September 2011 event was hosted by the Texas Music Museum with a panel discussion on coping with the stressed Texas drought.
Our panelists included:
Jennifer Walker, Water Resources Specialist for the Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club
Lauren Ross, Ph.D., P.E., Environmental Engineer and Owner at Glenrose Engineering
Nora Mullarkey, Water Conservation Supervisor at LCRA
Little Miss Recycle sponsored snacks along with beverages from our friends at SESA Teas.
Texas Music Museum works to broaden its collection of oral histories, photos and other artifacts and share its resources with numerous groups in Austin and throughout Texas. The collection and programs of the Texas Music Museum continues to preserve the legacy of Texas music.
