March 2011: Austin at the Vortex with Lucia Athens

Lucia Athens, Austin’s Chief Sustainability Officer, spoke to Texas Green Network members and friends, responding to the letters that participants wrote to her at our February meeting.  Ms. Athens also talked about issues affecting Austin now and in the future, including transportation, energy usage and waste management.

The Vortex hosted our Austin March event, providing our attendees with discounted drinks and FREE drinks provided by our friends at GreenBar Collective (www.greenbar.biz).  We will also enjoyed free food from Freebirds and El Milagro plus deserts provided by Bona Dea Baking Company and Theo Chocolates.

We also had a particularly vibrant open mike and onsite radio interviews with the Shades of Green Energy radio show.
